SETUP

If this is the first time you install the software, remember to run the setup the device NOT connected!

Once you installed the software launch it and follow the screen instructions.
When Windows asks for drivers, direct it into the folder where you installed the software previously.


(ex. c:\program files\duolabs\cas interfacxe studio ...\drivers as default)

or to the DRIVER folder inside the zip where you found this file

What's new in 6.3?

The new funcion Smartcard -> Card Generator!

It will be now possible to erase the exisiting OS on your M2/Platinum Card and load a new different OS (like OPOS 1.03 or Titanium2). We are actually working to implement the erasing of other OS Card.
Once the card is erased you are ready to load the new OS and you need to know the Transport Code. Cas Studio will set a Transport Code as default which is the most used one but this doens't mean your OS Card has that Transport Code.All you do you do it at your own risk!

If you don't know what you are doing simply don't do it! You could permanently damage your card! You have been told! Don't upload files you don't know what they are anyway!

How to use the Card Generator?

Do you have a virgin AT90SC6464C?

It will be enought that you insert the Smartcard into the Card reader of the Cas Interface 3.
On the Card Info you will see the following information:

Status-memory State: 90 00 = Blank card
BootLoader Version: XX XX
Chip Identifier: AT90SC6464C

This means that your Smartcard is blank and ready to be programmed.

Is your Smartcard is not blank (pre-programmed) as OS Card?

You have to make sure it's a M2 or Platinum card. Insert the Smartcard into the card reader and the funcion "Erase" will be enabled.
At this point you can press the "Erase" button. Make sure you have the valid Trasport Code otherwise your Smartcard would not be accessible anymore!
Wait util the Smartcard is erased and the new ATR will come up as shown:

Status-memory State: 90 03 = Pre-Programmed Card
BootLoader Version: XX XX
Chip Identifier: AT90SC6464C

This means that your Smartcard is blank and ready to be programmed.

About the Transport Code:

The Transport Code works almost in the same way as the PIN function of your GSM Sim-Card. You need it to access to all the functions of a Blank or erased Smartcard.
Just before programming a blank or Erased Smartcard you will need to present the Trasport Code. If you present the Trasport Code for more than 3 times wrong the card will be permanently blocked and there will be no more possibilities to access to the card anymore!
Set as default there is a Trasport Code which is quite standard. This doens't mean it the correct Trasport Code for your Card. Don't erase neither try to program a blank or erased Smartcard if you are not sure about the genuinity of your Transport Code.
